Thank you for considering enrollment with the Grove. At the Grove, we acknowledge that for thousands of years, the Quw’utsun, Malahat, Ts’uubaa-asatx, Halalt, Penelakut, Stz’uminus, & Lyackson Peoples have walked gently on the unceded territories where we now work.  We are committed to telling the stories of our xe’xe’ smun’eem (our sacred children), that recognize the truth and are based on honour and respect. General Information:

• We can only accept students residing in the Cowichan Valley/School District 79 catchment areas.
• Please ensure to check your junk folder for correspondence. If our emails end up there, follow the procedures to whitelist them (check out this link for more information).
• All options require submission of identification (POA/ID) and proof of residency (POR) for all K-12 students.

Identification Requirements:

• Acceptable forms of identification include a Birth Certificate, Passport, Status card, or Permanent Resident Card (copies of both sides required).
• Proof of residency can be provided through BC Care Card, BC ID Card, BC Driver’s License, Status Card, or current utility bill (copies of both sides required).

How to Submit Documents:

• Fax, scan, or send a picture to grovesecretary@sd79.bc.ca
• Visit our office for photocopying at 1033 Nagle Street (MacKirdy Building).

Options for Grove Enrollment:

Option 1:

Enrollment for Full-time Grades K to 9 (Cowichan Valley residents)

1. Ensure a responsible adult is available daily for student support (check out this link for home facilitator responsibilities).
2. This option covers all K to 9 programs:
   • Grove blended or at-home grades,
   • Grove Cowichan Valley Performing Arts Academy *options starting at grade 6 (at Adage), and
   • Grove Nature Collective
3. Complete the registration form and submit the POA, POR, and SLP
4. Schedule an intake meeting with the administration for program discussion (grovesecretary@sd79.bc.ca or 250-746-0277).
5. Schedule an intake meeting with the assigned teacher (if not waitlisted).

Option 2:

Full-Time Enrollment/Transfer to The Grove (Grades 10-12 in SD79)

Please note that all coursework must be completed by June 14th, 2024. Our school is not open during the summer holidays.

1. Complete these two registration forms, one for full-time enrollment and one for Brightspace account creation.
2. This option covers both 10 to 12 program options:
   • Grove grades 10 to 12 (at-home Full-time), and
   • Grove Cowichan Valley Performing Arts Academy (at Adage)
3. Submit POA, POR, and Student Learning Plan (SLP). Grades 10 to 12 SLP
   
4. Schedule a meeting with a Grove academic advisor (grovesecretary@sd79.bc.ca or 250-746-0277).
5. Check your email for login details and begin coursework.

Option 3:

Supplementing Current High School Schedule (Grades 10-12 attending SD79 high schools)

Please note that all coursework must be completed by June 14th, 2024. Our school is not open during the summer holidays.

1. Consult your school counsellor for course selection.
2. Fill out the registration form to create a Brightspace account (only pick courses you will start immediately).
3. Submit POA and POR.
4. Check your email for username and password.
5. Contact your teacher and begin coursework.

Adding Additional Course (Grades 10-12, previous Grove course takers)

Please note that all coursework must be completed by June 14th, 2024. Our school is not open during the summer holidays.

1. Consult your school counsellor for course selection.
2. Contact the Grove secretary with your course request (grovesecretary@sd79.bc.ca or 250-746-0277).
3. Await confirmation and check your Brightspace account for course access.
4. Contact your teacher and begin coursework.
