K-9 Blended & Online Learning Options

An Overview

The Grove offers several options for learning at home with both Blended and Distributed Learning programs for Kindergarten to Grade 9.

The Grove exists to help support families who want to learn outside of the four walls of a school. Our programs serve those families that identify as home schoolers, home learners, unschoolers and everyone in between. As we are a part of the Cowichan Valley School District, all of our exceptional programs free for families to enroll in. Each of our programs is led by a BC Certified teacher who provides families with curriculum resources and instructional support. Teachers and families work together to engage students in a personalized program that follows the BC curriculum. This enables students to learn and grow at their own pace.

In-person learning is blended with at home time at the Grove’s Blended Distributed Learning.

At a time when many families are struggling with homeschooling, The Grove’s Blended Learning Program sets out to support learning, so families can learn in a flexible environment.

The Grove’s Blended Learning Program helps learners find success through personalized programming, while enjoying flexibility and the opportunity to socially interact, without the restrictions of a typical school day. This program allows learners to explore and engage in their community while actively taking part in their education.

Our programing is tailored to fit the needs of each student. We offer programing that is responsive to the individual student and the interests of the class. Our blended learning opportunities enrich a child’s openness to learning while developing caring and social relationships.

Nature Collective (formerly known as Swallowtail) deeply connects families and students to each other and nature.

A little bit about us…
The Grove Nature Collective helps inquisitive learners connect with nature while exploring their interests. This is a blended program where students spend one to two days a week on 400 acres, outside in nature on Providence Farm. With a focus on using place-based, experiential learning, and imaginative play as our curriculum, our students excel at building close connections to all they encounter. Our fundamental values are student centred, rooted in attachment theory, and foster a genuine connection between teachers, parents, mentors, and children. Our program creates caring environment where children have a voice and take care of each other and the environment.
